PELVIC FLOOR

PELVIC FLOOR UNIT

We consider the pelvic floor to be the unit where different elements are found such as the bladder, the prostate and the female genital tract, closely related to the anus-rectal region.

This philosophy has led us to work in close co-operation with Gynaecologists, Gastroenterologists, Urologists, Radiologists or Neurophysiologists, both in diagnosis and treatment, thus obtaining better results and a higher level of satisfaction of our patients.

Both urinary and faecal incontinence, bladder, uterus or rectum falls or prolapses are disturbances with a negative social perception and tend to be hidden by the patient. They usually reach our centre in advanced stages which require aggressive treatments that could have been avoided or minimized with early medical control.

We have worked since 1997 in coordination with Gynaecologists, Urologists and Gastroenterologists in the Pelvic Floor Unit in order to offer our patients a global approach to this pathology. This saves medical visits and repeated expensive additional examinations.

In the case of surgical patients, this allows us to address several pathologies in a single surgery that would otherwise require more than one operation.
